Terms & Conditions:

By placing an order you represent to us you are at least 21 years old and the person to whom you are directing delivery is at least 21 years old.

Shipping Guidelines:

We ship Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid your wine being stored in warehouses or trucks that are not temperature controlled over the weekend. If you require a package be shipped on a different day, please notify our office at 503-662-5600 or by emailing shipping@sotervineyards.com.

With all packages containing alcohol, an adult signature from someone 21 or older is required at the time of delivery. We recommend shipping to a business address or a FedEx/UPS location to ensure easy delivery. We are unable to ship to PO boxes.

You will be emailed tracking information once the carrier scans your package. The tracking info will be sent to the email you provided in the shipping address field. Check to be sure that it didn’t get caught in a spam filter or sent to another inbox. Please check directly with the carrier for the most accurate delivery estimate so you can ensure someone is present to sign for your wine.

The carrier will make three delivery attempts before returning the package to us. If you know you will not be able to sign at the time of delivery, or if you receive a notice the package missed its attempted delivery, please reach out directly to the carrier service or shipping@sotervineyards.com.

You may be able to arrange to pick the package up at a local facility or have the package sent to an alternate address.

If your wine is not successfully delivered and is returned back to us, we will contact you to arrange re-shipment. Please note that if your wine is returned to us, you will be charged the shipping cost required to re-send the package.

Our primary carrier is FedEx. We can ship via UPS upon customer request.

Shipping Limitations:

State laws prevent shipping wine directly to consumers in some states. Due to licensing, we are unable to ship to:

Arkansas
Indiana
Kentucky
Mississippi
Utah
Vermont

In addition to the above states, we are unable to accept online or phone orders shipping to Delaware, Oklahoma, or Rhode Island.

If you live in one of the above states, please contact info@sotervineyards.com and we can provide you with the name of our distributor in your state to contact regarding local carriers of our wines.

We can only ship within the United States. If you are looking for our wine internationally, please contact info@sotervineyards.com and we can provide you with the name of our distributor in your country should we have one.

Many states place limitations on the amount of wine we can ship to consumers. If your order exceeds the volume limit imposed by your state, we will reach out to you to discuss your options.

Orders shipping to Alabama must ship to an “Alcoholic Beverage Control” (ABC) Store, we cannot ship wine to personal addresses. Please provide the address for your local ABC Store in the shipping field.

For orders shipping to South Dakota and Michigan, a copy of your government issued photo ID is needed to complete your order as these states have strict age verification requirements. For on-site orders, a copy can be made in our Tasting Room. For off-site orders, please email a copy to shipping@sotervineyards.com.

 

Weather Restrictions:

We do not ship wines via ground in extreme temperatures, either hot or cold. Customers may elect to ship their wine via expedited air methods, or to have the order held until weather permits safe ground shipping. While we cannot guarantee the weather will not change, we will make every effort to ensure that your package is not subjected to weather extremes. If you feel you have received a damaged bottle, please contact us immediately.  

You may choose to override our shipping recommendations, but we will not accept returns for spoiled wine that was not shipped according to our recommendations.

When will my wine ship?

Orders placed in the tasting room or via phone:

Orders placed by noon PST on Friday will ship the following Monday. Orders placed after noon PST on Friday – noon PST on Monday will ship the following Tuesday. Orders placed after noon PST on Monday will ship the following Monday. If you need an alternate ship date, please contact shipping@sotervineyards.com or call the winery at 503-662-5600 and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

 

You will receive an email after your order has been processed reminding you of your ship date, shipping address, and estimated delivery date. Please take this opportunity to make any changes needed to ensure delivery (such as shipping to a local carrier location or to your business rather than a residence).

 

Orders placed online:

Please see the notes under “Shipping Options” upon check out for specific dates and information regarding any shipping suggestions due to the weather.

 

Orders placed by noon PST on Thursday will ship the following Monday. Orders placed after noon PST on Thursday – noon PST on Sunday will ship the following Tuesday. Orders placed after noon PST on Sunday will ship Monday of the next week. If you need an alternate ship date, please contact shipping@sotervineyards.com or call the winery at 503-662-5600 and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

 

All orders are personally checked for shipping details and compliance with state regulations before they are finalized. You will not be charged or shipped wine until such details are finalized. Should we need more information to complete your order, we will reach out by phone or email to the contact information provided in the billing field.

How long will it take for my wine to be delivered?     

Ground delivery typically takes 2 business days for the West Coast and up to 7 business days for the East Coast. Please either select 2-day or Overnight shipping or contact shipping@sotervineyards.com if you need a specific delivery date.

Return Policy:

We guarantee our products;  we will replace or refund you for any bottle of wine that is damaged, flawed, or that hasn’t met your expectations. Please contact the winery and we will happily assist you in exchanging your wine or we will refund the order completely. We ask that local customers return the unfinished portion of the original bottle to the tasting room for replacement or refund.

If you receive a package that has been visibly damaged in transit, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange for an exchange or refund. Please keep the products in the original packaging. We will advise you how to arrange for the package to be returned to us and plan for a replacement shipment or refund.

 

Winter Shipping:

When temperatures across the country are near freezing, we evaluate safe shipping methods depending on: local departing temperatures, time and temperature in transit, and arrival temperatures.

For most states we do not ship via ground to avoid compromising the quality of the wine in any way.  We will often recommend shipping via expedited air methods (such as 3-day, 2-day, or Overnight) depending on your state; please ask for pricing if you are interested in these options. If you prefer to ship via ground, we will hold your shipment until the warmer temperatures of Spring allow for safe transit. We will be in touch with you personally to inform you of your estimated ship date and communicate any changes to this date.

Summer Shipping:

During the summer we are unable to ship via Ground to most states due to the high temperatures, we want to ensure that the quality of your wine is not compromised. Depending on your state, we may recommend expedited air or cold chain shipping methods. Please ask for pricing if you are interested in these options. Alternatively, we can always hold your order until the warmer temperatures of Fall when it is safe to resume shipping via ground. If you select this option, we will be in touch with you personally to inform you of your estimated ship date and communicate any changes to this date.

FedEx Cold Chain Shipping:

FedEx Cold Chain utilizes both refrigerated trucks and overnight shipping methods to protect the quality of your wine from high temperatures.
There is a per package fee in addition regular ground shipping.
Delivery takes approximately 1-2 weeks, and is available to most states. FedEx Cold Chain operates on a specific schedule, we will personally communicate your expected delivery date.
In order for Cold Chain to effectively protect your wine during transport, a successful first delivery attempt is imperative. We cannot guarantee the integrity of your wine after the first missed delivery.

 

Gift Shipping:

We cannot ship wine as a surprise gift, as packages containing alcohol require the signature of someone over 21 at the time of delivery. When gifting wine, we ask that you communicate with the recipient so they can expect a package from Soter Vineyards that needs a signature. We also ask that you provide an email address for the recipient so they receive tracking information.

All information related to payment will only be sent to the contact in the billing field.

We will happily include a personalized gift note if you pass your desired message on to us!

If you would like to have your gift wrapped, we offer gift packaging for an additional fee, this cost is built into our carefully selected gift sets. For personally selected gifts, please let us know you would like gift packaging or the wine will ship in our standard shipping box.

 

Wine Club Pick-up Policy:

For our “pick-up” wine club members: We ask that you please pick up your wine within six (6) months of its release.  Soter Vineyards is unable to hold your wine shipments for any longer than this.   If after six (6) months, you have not picked-up your wine or made other plans with us, we will reach out to you to arrange shipping your wine, at your cost, to a preferred address of your choice.  Shipping and handling fees will be charged to the credit card we have on file.
