Join us for a guided hike through Mineral Springs Ranch—our 240-acre Biodynamic estate and home to Soter Vineyards. This immersive experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at our farm and vineyard, illuminating the deep-rooted practices that guide our stewardship.
We’ll begin at the Soter tasting room and wind our way through vineyard rows, ascending toward the ridgeline where sweeping views of the Willamette Valley stretch west to the coastal range. Along the trail, you’ll be joined by three of our resident experts: our staff viticulturist, our beekeeper, and our MC and primary guide, Dr. Jeff D. Peterson—Soter’s resident wine educator and a professor of sociology specializing in Oregon wine and sustainable agriculture. Together, they’ll share insights into the vibrant ecosystems that thrive here, from soil to canopy to hive. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of our regenerative farming philosophy and learn how our pollinator program. You’ll also hear from a volunteer with the OSU Master Melittologist Program, who will share insights about the Oregon Bee Project—a statewide initiative that unites Oregonians around a science-driven strategy to protect and promote both wild and managed bees through education, research, and pollinator-friendly practices.
The hike will last approximately 45–60 minutes and includes uneven terrain, gentle elevation gains, and a mix of sun and shade. Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. The loop meanders through vineyard blocks and past our three-acre working farm before returning to the tasting room. Throughout the journey, we’ll pause to taste wines that reflect the full arc of our Pinot Noir expression—from the playful spirit of Planet Oregon, to the nuanced elegance of Soter Vineyards, to the soulful depth of Mineral Springs Ranch. Each pour will be accompanied by seasonal snacks, thoughtfully crafted to complement the wines and the moment.
This is more than a hike—it’s an invitation to experience Mineral Springs Ranch as we do: vibrant, dynamic, and deeply alive. Walk the land, taste its fruits, and let its story unfold beneath your feet.
